Job Description

-Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications -Create shop drawing for customer approval and for production -Follow up on quotes and send quotes to customers with timelines as well as respond to inquires -Coordinate between customer and production -Manage project file as per the quote provided and approved -Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations -Establish and maintain tendering process and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures -Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a project -Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors -Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates -Manage and co-ordinate construction projects and prepare construction progress schedules. -Other duties as required

Education & Experience

Specialized Training with AutoCad or with a Engineering Degree in Civil or Architectural area with minimum 5 years’ experience in similar job or Technical diploma in precast concrete industry all with minimal 5+ years’ experience. Carpentry experience is considered a strong asset. Minimum 2 yrs experience in construction project management, primarily in relation to pre-cast is an asset Experience in underground products such as manhole, pipes, etc. and/or pre-tensioning is an asset but not mandatory. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Ability to perform quantity take offs Positive, proactive work ethic with a mind towards problem solving. Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook) Excellent communication skills in the English language, both verbal & written. Capable of leading a team in a positive manner. Ability to multi task and manage timelines.
